Tien has worked with many practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and has found that a shared principle among them is that a harmonious and balanced environment promotes health. Our body is an intelligent system, able to send signals when it is out of balance. When we are aware of these signals, it is easier to maintain a harmonious and healthy life. Tien is dedicated to holistic well-being which encompasses the physical body and the mental and emotional dimensions of being.

Any advice for those new to Acupuncture?
For those who are not familiar with acupuncture, there is often nervousness about needles. Acupuncture needles are much smaller than typical, large, phlebotomy type of needles and are comparable to a strand of hair. The other thing I often hear is that people aren’t sure what conditions acupuncture is suited for. Acupuncture is used to treat a wide variety of ailments: pain, insomnia, fatigue, digestive issues, stress, just to name a few. In addition to treating the physical, mental and emotional ailments can be addressed as well, such as anxiety and depression.
Acupuncture not only addresses temporary issues, but can be used long-term for maintaining health. Tien says his approach is to address whatever current condition patients present with, then work with them over time to promote overall optimal health.
